Why We Pace This Route This Way

Druk Path remains our favourite short Himalayan trek because every camp earns huge mountain horizons without a two-week expedition slog. You warm up with a hike to Taktsang on day two before setting off above Ta Dzong with pack ponies, our camp cook, and proper thick sleeping mats. Walking between rhododendron forests and crystal trout lakes at Jimilang Tsho and Simkotra Tsho gives you sunrise views of Gangkhar Puensum before dropping straight down through pine woods into Thimphu.
