Arrival and the first lodge evening
Meet and assist at the airport, then a slow afternoon at a lodge above the valley floor. Dinner is a set menu and the guide talks through the eleven days ahead.

Eleven days from Paro to Bumthang with lodge nights, a private cook and the long eastern road
This is the full crossing: west to east over Pele La, three nights in Bumthang, and a return that stops at Phobjikha when the cranes are in. The driving is broken so no single day runs past five hours, and the two longest transfers end in the best room available in that district rather than whichever hotel answers the phone. Guests who want a slower version can drop the Bumthang leg and keep everything else.
Guests with eleven days to spend and an interest in the central valleys, not only the western circuit
Meet and assist at the airport, then a slow afternoon at a lodge above the valley floor. Dinner is a set menu and the guide talks through the eleven days ahead.
Climb to Taktsang in the cool morning with a packed breakfast, then return for the afternoon and a hot stone bath before dinner.
Morning butter lamps, then the river highway to Thimphu. The afternoon holds the craft school or the national museum, whichever the party prefers.
Cross the pass early, check in on the river by lunch, and walk the suspension bridge before the light goes.
The dzong in the morning, a private farmhouse lunch in Lobesa, and the afternoon free at the lodge.
Climb past the yak pastures at Pele La, stop at Chendebji Chorten for tea, and reach Trongsa in time to see the dzong across the gorge. Dinner at the heritage manor.
The royal watchtower museum in the morning, then over Yotong La into Chumey for the weaving houses and down to Jakar for three nights.
Walk the riverside path from Jambay Lhakhang to Kurjey early, then drive to Tang for the manor house and a buckwheat lunch before returning.
The long return west, turning into the Phobjikha bowl in the late afternoon. Walk a short stretch of the Gangtey trail and eat beside the stove.
Morning at Gangtey Goemba, then the road west with a lunch stop at Wangdue. The last night is at the Paro lodge with a private dinner.
Breakfast, then the short transfer to the terminal.
Travel insurance strongly recommended: cover mountain medical care, altitude evacuation, and Paro weather flight delays. Read the travel insurance note
