Why We Pace This Route This Way

Paro happens right in our own backyard, which matters enormously during Tshechu week when town rooms sell out months ahead. Instead of leaving you standing baffled at the back of a crowded courtyard for eight straight hours, we pair unhurried morning cham sessions inside Rinpung Dzong with quiet afternoon walks in Lamgong and two warm days over in Punakha. On the final morning we enter the fortress at 4:15 AM by butter-lamp glow as monks unfurl the giant silk thongdrel before first sun touches the roof.
